SO WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW?

There are many many ways of dealing with rubbish. Oxfordshire County Council have DECIDED by approving a planning application for a giant waste incinerator AT Ardley Quarry this will be the quick fire, money making, easy short term fix.

 

WHAT IS SHORT TERM ABOUT A 25 TO 30 YEAR CONTRACT?... NOTHING!

Ardley Quarry has now been  nominated as the proposed site chosen by OCC for a planning application. If successful, the 300,000 tonne per annum incinerator will be run for 25 YEARS, controlled by the Viridor who currently run the landfill

 

A WASTE INCINERATOR DEVELOPMENT AT ARDLEY WILL

 Dramatically reduce air quality in Ardley and the surrounding villages,  

    leading to health risks and a poorer quality of life for everyone!

 Increase the traffic on the B430, M40 and all local village roads in the    

    area by 3 TIMES the current levels. During operational hours 1 HGV vehicle willtravel along the B430 EVERY MINUTE!

 Significantly reduce housing, land & business values in the Bicester area

    by 20% and destroy the beautiful countryside we love to live in.

 Incinerator technology is an OLD, DIRTY & LAZY process and NO ONE to date

   can prove that emissions from its 82 meter chimney are 100% safe.

 Will discourage residents and business to recycle in a county that has one       

    of the best recycling levels in the UK.

 Rubbish from all over Oxfordshire and possibly shipped in from other

    counties will be driven in HGV’s across the county to Ardley.
